Checking to make sure you received this unit?

Also, where it comes to warranty - I'm not asking for any special favors, just be aware that this unit was pulled off our shelve of spares.
It was never powered on or taken out of the box prior to the failure...
We have a few others from that batch, all sealed on their boxes, waiting as spares - would be good to know if to expect issues with these...

Thanks,

Yahel.

I would suggest you pull off shelf and bench them and upgrade them while you're at it.

Let me know soon your findings?

Thanks.

Good idea - I'll upgrade them once we get the 1.5.23 Multicast bug out of the way (and others? Email? NTP? these are not so important for us - but I see others are still having some issues).

Also - I would wait to get your report about the unit I sent you -- is it defective?
This may affect how we deal with others...

Did you got it?
What's the next steps regarding testing that unit?

Thanks,

Yahel.

I did not ask today if it arrived, will do tomorrow.
What is tracking #

My time is short.
I have 1 more day to get shit done before I have to fly down to Florida Thursday. I wanted to stay up here in PA but 2 of my 4 kids and 1 grandchild and daughter down there is 4 months pregnant...... I LOST THAT "DEBATE WITH MY WIFE, NOT EVEN CLOSE BATTLE!!!

We will be coming back before January 10th, then I'm on it.

But if it is here, I can delegate to Eric to do basic testing, if so, will let you know tomorrow his diagnostics.

Sirhc - I'm sure you got you hands full....
Nonetheless, I'm asking about the status of this switch.
No rush, but we are running low on spare 26-port units.

Thanks,

Yahel.

I'm stuck in Florida a couple more weeks.

Came down for Christmas and see kids and new years eve there was an accident my wife almost lost her hand.

Looks OK reattached all nerves and tendons in cast but they did not reconnect radial artery for no good reason leavingbjust the Ural artery. Waiting to see specialist. Once stable I'm headed back up alone.

I was supposed to fly back Jan 7th.

I wonder if katie shipped it by mistake to Julian who is taking back over RMAs. I'll call Monday and ask katie.

I might call Julian see if he got it by mistake.

What was MAC again?

I sent Skype to Julian as he might have picked it up from our facility yesterday. He should weigh in here soon.

Yahel, good morning

That unit has *not* as yet made the trip; the boys in brown are rectifying that as we speak - will confirm test configuration and results with you when able. Good to see ya!

Thanks,

Julian

Yahel - Yessir, it arrived yesterday evening. For a time, I tried coming up with a political way of putting 'okay now what' in a forum post; but decided to and have been attempting to familiarize myself with this unit's particular case, rather than ask that either of you reiterate.

My understanding thus far is that it's your login: prompt i'm looking at, may be inaccurate from some of my reading. The front panel does look like a Chris tower, but the hostname doesn't look like one of his, could go either way. Ordinarily, I would wipe the config and start from bare metal, but that risks dislodging whatever gremlin we're (not) seeing (yet), can you PM me credentials?

Then we've got to figure out a way to get my eyes on what you're seeing - if you have some suggestions, i'm all ears- otherwise it's me, my noggin, and some iperf3 streams, and my noggin is mostly questions.. Standard MTU? any qinq encapsulation? vlans? ambiguity is our enemy, as is a dearth of detail

update upon open chassis examination:
device was reworked 8/23 by dan at isp technologies - I see he replaced the primary SoC and clock, along with 2 current sensors and their attendant shunt resistors and line magnetics. Unclear if protection diodes were also reworked at this point, i see no clashing date codes or solder joints that would indicate they were, every time *I* leave those I end up replacing the SoC again, though
I've begun to feel as though we're involved in a conversation that should be between you and he at this point, am following up with him privately as well (yelling at him for getting silicone between the SoC and board Pirate4 you're supposed to mask the schmoo or it complicates subsequent removal!...)

Guess we'll keep getting it labbed up, have it handle my barnnet shot; one thing i will say is i'm no longer sure who's problem we're finding
