If you use wireless link, make sure you have WDS enabled else it can happen.

Always specify firmware version but when ever you experience an issue upgrade to the latest firmware which is v1.3.9rc14 and see if the issue remains. Then if the issue remains then detail it out.
v1.3.8 is FINAL no fixes will be done for it but v1.3.9 is in development.

Re: Spanning tree blocking port
thnx for the advice
the version 1.3.8
this is a production environment so we don't have much room for try and specially with RC and not even final and i don't have much time to test in the lab also this is one switch out of 8 which is doing this so you can't really replicate the issue
for now we disabled STP because we are only running it for loop protection and instead we have enabled loop protection on all switches for now

Personally I would have installed v1.3.9rc14 which is all but going FINAL and has fixed many bugs found in v1.3.8
You need to understand Loop Protection as that a leaking network device even on your customer side can cause a loop protection event to occur shutting down a port for 90 deconds.

Re: Spanning tree blocking port
Hi,,
i didn't really know the mechanism you implemented it but i know the concept and i work with vlans only inside my network as all access vlans are untagged on the access points , inside my network it is all Netonix switches and soon we are going to switch from a large flat network to segmented
