Well, you've asked, we've answered.
You can now download this tool
Windows: Serial Recovery Tool v1.0.1
This automate's the process of recovering a switch via the serial port.
You just need to download the recovery.tar.gz file
Then the latest firmware
And finally select the COM port the switch exists at and click "start" at that point go grab some coffee, watch youtube or something. When you come back after about an hour the switch should be online.
**NOTE**: Make sure that no other program like HyperTerminal or PuTTY is using the Serial port otherwise the Recovery Tool won't be able to access the port.
Internally, it is really just following the same step's defined in the original instructions here so if for whatever reason you would rather recover manually you still can.
Here is what it looks like in action:
Hope this make's everyone's live's a bit easier - cheers.

Just FYI, there's a space at the beginning of the filename, not sure if that's intentional or not...

Any plans for a Linux version in the future? I can't be the only one who doesn't own (nor ever will again) a Windows computer.

Actually, yes there are plans to release on Linux. We wanted to see how it worked out for everyone on windows first.

Re: RECOVERY TOOL VIA SERIAL FOR SWITCHES
Great work!
Tried this on one of our switches. Been stuck on 'Begin transfer of recovery file .....
The .tar file is an archive not sure if that might have an effect on the process. When i unpack it, i get two files mtd and switch. My conclusion, either the switch is proper faulty or an issue with the .tar file.

No thanks. That still requires one to use Windows. I will not provide Microsoft with any more money. Screw them. I'll stick with my "telemetry-free" OS.
