v1.0.10rc7

Fri Jan 02, 2015 1:21 am

FIXES
Starting with version 1.0.10rcX we began hashing the password on the flash and in exported config files, unfortunately at this time we caused a break/bug in the code that when a user defaulted the switch they were no longer able to login to the UI and must use the console cable to set the password in the CLI then they could log into the UI again.

Another bug that some people saw was an error message when clicking the save/apply for the config, some people would not have seen the message, it depended if they had SMTP enabled or not. The message was false as the config was actually saved/applied.

KNOWN ISSUES
NTP service is temperamental and may sometimes require disabling and re-enabling in the UI to cause the switch to get the correct time.

SNMP "possibly" sometimes also requires disable and re-enable in the UI to get it to function properly but this has only been reported by 1 person (mhoppes)?

v1.0.10rc12

Thu Jan 08, 2015 7:49 pm

FIXES
- A temporary fix for a bug where "some" 1000 Mb SFP modules were detected wrong as 100Mb at boot up and would not communicate unless the cable was unplugged and re-plugged in. This only effected ports 13 & 14 on the WS-12-250X models and ports 25 & 26 on the-24-400X models. We have sent some of the SFP modules that have this issue to Eric so he can do a lab to do a proper fix.

- A fix to help prevent a rare occurrence where a switch with only 1 or 2 devices (such as a laptop connected to it) with little to no traffic occurring the laptop may lose communications to the switch UI / CLI from a reboot initiated in the UI or CLI or a reboot from a firmware upgrade. When this occurred the user could simply plug into a different port to regain access. This is a very hard to recreate event so it is hard to determine if it is fixed. I have tried to recreate it many times. Sometimes I get lucky and other times I try for hours and give up. It never happens on a switch with multiple connections and traffic being passed. The switch does boot normally and does get configured to what ever your configuration is you just can not access the UI / CLI unless you plug into a different port. This issues is one we are trying to address as fast as possible but if we can not recreate the event very easily it is next to impossible to know if your changed fixed it.

v1.1.0rc11

Thu Jan 22, 2015 6:46 pm

WARNING - Some people (three so far) reported issues with logging into the web UI after upgrading.

We will investigate this tomorrow and release a new version.

However if you can not wait and do experience this issue you can login via SSH or Console and reset the password to what it should be via the CLI and you will then be able to login to the web UI.

When you login to the CLI you need to issue the following commands "if" you have the problem:
config [press enter]
credentials password [desired password] [press enter]
[ctrl] + [z]

Now you can log in to the web UI again

FIXES
- Cosmetic fixes

- Switch will not perform scheduled port bounces if the date/time is not set from NTP service

- Fixed bandwidth control / shaping on ports (sorry this was never working until now)

- Finished IPV6 on the Device/Configuration Tab

ENHANCEMENTS
- Login splash screen

- Secondary IPs for each VLAN
Configured on the VLAN Tab by clicking on the little gear next to Description

- VLAN trunking (Allow all VLANs)
Configured on the VLAN Tab with a check box above the port number

- Renumber/name default VLAN
- Enabled flow control by default or factory default (will not affect your current configuration)

- Access control list to limit what IPs can use the UI / CLI / SNMP
- Configurable Tar Pit on login attempts to prevent brute force attacks to crack password
Configured on the Device/Access Control Tab

- Port Isolation
Configured on the Ports Tab under the column heading Iso

- LAG method used to load balance across ports configuration
Configured at the top of the LAG Tab
