Hi,

Have you seen a Digital Loggers' Midspan unit....it would be very nice to get something similar, but with Gb ports and VHP 4-pair power as well. Your devices do close, but adding the charging capability and change-over to battery on AC fail would cinch it.

Our remote sites use 24v battery config, and space may make it hard for 48v input, so....that, too.

On battery sites use our SMART DC switch which accept 9V-72V DC input
Hook them directly to the battery bank
Then hook chargers to the battery banks - charging units should be sized larger than demand at site.

Hi,

I guess I will have to learn about VLANs then, as I am fully routed, not using VLANs at this time.

Any good crash-courses available? :^)

Hi,

Which ones are the smart switches that have that input range?

Hi,

Thanks for that.

Now that stupid question....I gather I would set up VLANs for making this work properly, as I have AF24in to a tower, local LAN(s) for the tower, and AF24 out to the next location...? Because this is a switch, and not each port being a pass-through...
