I'm not really seeing anything in this space at the moment. Even established tech like MPLS TE FRR is being completely ignored by 'tik and ubnt. Maybe someone should get serious and write a top-down routing protocol.

I make no claims as to my expertise but from what I know of R*Flo (thanks Josh). Its real secret weapon was the patented capacity measurement which required the $$$ FPGAs. I've never looked at what SNMP data was available on UBNT and other radios but if they provided modulation rate, it seems that you could do essentially the same path shifting, though probably not sub-50ms, by developing a system that monitored the radios directly.
