Chris, did you read my post and look at the plots? While I don't care for the Ubiquiti marketing using 6dB down points, this new sector cannot even boast that!

I'm saying 5-6 is too much to claim full width IMO, but 15! That's gone past a stretch to a lie.

I wonder if Chris could clean up the edges to 90 degrees or if 60 is more attainable? I wonder how four or six of these would do in a cluster mount shield kit? At the disruptive price of them maybe there might be enough money on the table to buy shield kits/cluster mounts?

I always hate trying to turn a 120 into a 90 or a 90 into a 60.

I prefer to stay behind the intended beam plot because of "potential" multi-path issues but in this case It really is not a 120 at -15 dB.

I will order in a couple and take a peek when I get some time.

Chris,

Any idea that you can make shield for the LBE-5AC-16-120 ?

I really like the product for nearby clients < ½ km (0.3 miles). Probably cheap and easy to setup. But AC equipment needs shielding in noisy environment (colocation). And the LBE-5AC-16-120 doesn't come with airPrism....

the more I look at the 16-120 the more I don't like it. The antenna pattern alone is deplorable. I think that for a few more bucks I'd do a RocketAC-PtMP (or PRISM, but I don't know the price yet) and the older baby 5Ghz sector with a shield.

Without PRISM on the tx, these devices are going to be EXTREMELY limited. One useful UNII3 channel? Too low gain for much in DFS.

For short distance and few clients (<1-5) I think the product will be extremely versatile....
I could do a small site for a low cost.

Add a WS-6-MINI switch + PowerBeam AC for PtP and you have a really low cost small site that would make sense for few clients...

I really wanted to see an AC NanoStation. These are great mini-sectors and they are cheap. The 16-120 has a funky pattern with VERY unbalanced chains across the band and a huge drop off getting severe around 90degrees.

Hopefully Chris can get his hands on a couple of them and start doing some tests. He's been able to clean up the edges of other sectors so it may just depend on whether he can come in on the right price point. Some people may have an issue with paying more for the shield kit than they pay for the sector even though the total cost compared to the Rocket/sector/shield alternative would come in a much higher price.

Yeah, it would be nice if just like the NSM5 it had a POE passthru port ... However, that gets really complicated and tricky with a GigE interface.
