Battery Backup for Mini

Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:40 pm

I'm working on rolling out a new site where the mini would be perfect. Normally at these sites that battery backup takes up the most space.

I'd really like to just use something like this for power:
http://www.streakwave.com/Itemdesc.asp? ... 48-18&o1=0

But I don't think it provides 48 volt "high" on two pair. Does anyone know of an easy compact way to accomplish this? Since the switch runs on 48 volts, even if I were to power direct from battery I still would need 4 batteries.

Provides 24hour battery backup @ 3.5 W load or 12 hours @7W load per 9Ah battery

Depends on your load on the WS-6MINI

Say you are pulling 20 watts only powering 2 airMAX radios plus the switch (not an airFIBER type radio) you would get 4-6 hours

Looks like the cheaper models will deliver 30W and the pricier one 60W

I don't care about run time. I'm trying to figure out a way to battery backup the mini without having a huge bank of batteries.

Of course with the DC switch it's irrelevant :)
