Metrolinq is interesting, especially for the price. However, in clear air the distance limit is about 1 mile.

I was wondering, isn't the problem with rain-fade even worse at 60GHz than at 24GHz ?

Yes it is.

I see a place for this link a "private" PTP for high end customers within a mile of the tower with CLOS which I have a lot of.

I also see a BIG use for "private" IT links to link building together across the street or within an Industrial park. Most "private" IT AF24 links are far less than 1 mile.

Plus it does have a built in 5GHz backup link so rain outages should go un-noticed? - We will see!

I think it is 802.11AC similar to Rocket AC links

Any news on MetroLinq availability? The only distributor I saw that had a guess said November? I've got a bunch of short hops that I'd love to try these on.

Hey everyone, sorry for being MIA, I got slammed with the launch and field testing of the MetroLinq. We are in the final stages finally and have gotten a few beta links out. We are expecting units to be on the shelves at distributors in Mid December finally. Will keep you updated. I do strongly suggest to pre-order your test links as soon as possible. There are a lot of units already pre-ordered.

As for testing with the Netonix, a bunch of our field testers have been testing with both Netonix and MetroLinq together. Good news is the MetroLinq will operate on any port at 24V, not just the VH ports. Initially I just matched it to our POE injector power rating and didn't try operating on a single pair.

What distance hops are you trying to cover?
