Creating a Cron Tab schedule
Posted: Thu Nov 06, 2025 2:06 pm
Hello All,
I am looking for an automated way to turn PoE on and off on a specific port on specific days and specific times. I see under the Power tab I can schedule Startup and Shutdown timed on a daily basis. I need to go one step further scheduling this on/off for specific days. My thought is to build a cron.tab file. From here I can script all the scheduling I would need.
So a couple of questions.
1 - Does the Netonix switches have the file space and memory to support my project.
2 - Are the required Linux commands available in the Netonix CLI
3 - Will my newly created cron.tab be overwritten when I perform a software update.
Thank you for your time and look forward to your response.
