Problems with Q-in-Q

Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:31 am

I have a setup with 4 WISP Switches. MTU on all radio devices and switch ports is 2000. We have one VLAN going between all the switches and if I set the final switch on both sides to U on the hand off port traffic passes fine between the two end points. However, if I set the hand-off switch port to Q, we are unable to get anything to pass. Nothing seems to flow.

Any ideas on what would cause this or what to check?

Shouldn't Q-in-Q pass untagged traffic on the native VLAN?

No, i dont think so, that's not how QinQ works to my knowledge?

Maybe a few of our more knowledgeable users will weigh in here and prove me wrong, it happens.

Matt make up a diagram of this 4 switch lab. Upload picture dont link. Upload file is under blue submit button.

Lable each switch 1 thru 4.

Upload screen grabs of vlan tabs labeled to each switch. Before making change that stops traffic.

I'd be happy to set this lab up, call you on Skype, share screen and discuss.

I should have time next week after tuesday to do this. We can do in evening after work if that helps?
