No Kernel Found

Mon Dec 20, 2021 11:18 am

We have a WS-26-400-AC spare that has been in it's original box on the shelf for a long time (S/N MAC EC:13:B2:02:6B:B2). This weekend, we attempted to configure it. The switch was only accessible via a console cable. Trying to factory reset gives a "no kernel found" error message before dropping back to a basic Linux bash prompt.

Luckily we had two spares and the other one worked as expected.

What do we do next with the "no kernel found" unit?
