NETONIX WS-8 No Data Light activity switch functional

Hello over the weekend we were doing upgrades and applying vlans to our switches. We upgraded one of our switches, a ws-8 to the new firmware 1.5.8 from 1.5.5 we lost connection after applying the VLAN settings. I went out today and the only things glowing on the switch are the power indicator light and the POE indicator light for the radio on the roof. The rest of the ports are regular data ports no POE. Upon further investigation all of the ports are linked and working but the data link indicator lights are failing to illuminate. Is this a software bug or a hardware failure? I factory reset the switch, reinstalled the firmware for good measure, updated the settings and everything is working fine just no data indicator lights on the right side of each port. This is in a controlled, air conditioned environment inside a data closet at a MDU deployment. No signs of water or physical abuse.
