Suggestion: Auto 10/100

Fri May 15, 2015 11:48 am

It would be great if we could set ports to auto 10/100 etc like cambium radios. Nice feature to have when you have a wiring issue and want to stop the port from negotiating gig without having to mess with whatever is on the remote end.

I can look into the possibility of doing this.

Not a bad idea but not sure if it can be done and still be considered Auto but if it can that would be great because when you hard code speed/duplex it disables Flow Control as it is a function of Auto Negotiate.

As far as I know on Canopy and Mikrotik it is still Auto you are just no longer advertising that you can do 1000F on the port anymore. On my Mikrotik router I leave it on AutoNeg and just uncheck the 1000H and 1000F boxes and the link drops for a second and comes back up running at 100F Auto w/flow control still running.

Due to UBNT still having issues with XW Titanium rockets and LAN lockups at 1000f, has there been any progress on this possible feature. I just do not like the idea of fixing the LAN Speed on devices that are up 300' on a tower.

Hi Chris

did this ever get implemented, we are having a problem with an Adva box negotiating with our WS-200-400B, BT are set to auto and so are we, however they have set port advertising to 100F. The netonix does show on our port in both CLI and GUI now as 100F but on speedtests we have 98 down and 15 up, before they added advertising our port showed 1G and speed was sync

Seconded this feature. Having to manually set the XW rockets's speed breaks flow control.

Currently I have two options with the XW gear.

a) lock to 100mbps without any flow control
b) leave at auto but have a ping watchdog run. AP will randomly reboot, flow-control is enabled.

Currently neither option is ideal.

Has Ubiquiti ever commented on this problem? Or is this another issue they've swept under the rug?

10 Auto, 100 Auto

Mon Jun 27, 2016 2:31 pm

Is there a way to select 100 mbit "auto" and 10 mbit "auto" ?

This would be a very handy feature.

I am assuming 100 - f means that it forces the duplex to Full duplex, so both sides CPE and netonix need to be forced 100 mbit full.

I do not believe the Vitesse Core gives that option and it has been asked many times already on the forums but I will ping Eric on it.

I also merged your request into the existing thread :ak:

So Eric informs me that this is an option with the Vitesse Switch Core and will be implemented in the next release
