G8032

Tue Apr 20, 2021 10:20 am

dear all,

i am going to use netonix switches in a new radio ring network that is using G8032 ERPV2.
i guess netonix switches do not support ERPv22, right?
if netonix do not support ERPv2, i need to be able to pass transparently L2CP protocols and OAM
The MAC addresses that should have transparency over path are:
- Ring Automatic Protection Switching (R-APS) Messages
01-19-A7-00-00-01 through 01-19-A7-00-00-02
- OAM CCM Messages
01-80-C2-00-00-30 through 01-80-C2-00-00-3F

does anybody know if i can pass the above transparently from a switch, and if yes how?

thanks in advance

ERPS (V2) is in beta state. There a limited support of OAM. You would have to test to see if it's fit your needs.

L2CP protocols won't pass through. Not sure if it's possible to so. The WS switch core support some MEF features but I don't know exactly which one.

There has been very little demand for ERPS so we haven't spent a lot of time working on it.
But as far as I know it works on it's own, if you want to try it out yourself - I did a write up sometime ago about it describing a basic topology that worked between Netonix Switches:

Simple ERPS Setup

mike99 was testing it for us and he brought up a few bugs on that post that I believe we resolved since then, but if you need to test it - this might be a good starting point.
