Netonix 24V POE port exceeding 18W when powering AF-3X

Hello,

We are encountering some odd issues with some of our AF-3X links and we believe it's power-related.

We noticed that the Watts meter on the Netonix POE ports will regularly surpass 18W, sometimes going up to 21-22W, causing the meter to go red. Note that this isn't an issue for our radios being powered by 24VH, as the Watts meter allows 36W.

I found a Netonix topic that mentioned 24VH is really only necessary if the AF-3X has a cable run that is 160+ feet. The radios we're powering via 24V have cable runs of 40 feet or less. And Ubiquti's website indicates an AF-3X only requires up to 17 Watts. So what is it we're doing wrong?

To recap:

Our AF-3X radios powered via 24VH: No problems.
Our AF-3X radios powered via 24V: Wattage appear to be exceeding its limit on the Netonix; real-life symptoms are the radios not booting back up if the Netonix is reboot or if there was a power outage.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

You should run AFX radios with 48V or 48VH not 24V

Plus it takes load off the switch 24V power supply and is more efficient.
