Netonix switch with cambium Force300

Sun Jul 01, 2018 11:13 am

Hello everybody,

has someone ever connected a Cambium Network Force 300 with a WS-12DC or a WS-6-mini? After 24 hours the WS-12 is became unrensponsive and all site was off; we reached the site and noticied that ws-12 was powered, the led power was on but the ports link was off( the ports poe was on)
After a phisical reboot the switch was on but seems that the SO didn’t start. Tomorrow we would attach a PC to RS232 to see what appen in console we it is powered.

Is someone seen something of similar?
Than you in advance.

If it worked for hours then failed it either was damaged or failed.

If it was damaged I would say ground current.

Here are some good posts on grounding:

Bench test as described here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2780#p19221

Also if you are saying you used a WS-12-DC and not a WS-12-250-DC then the input voltage MUST be conditioned and not exceed 53V or poof.

The WS-12-DC passes what ever voltage you feed it out unconditioned as the 48V POE options which means if you feed it 48V then 48V POE pushes out 48V but if you feed it 54V then 48V POE pushes out 48V. So if you feed it 56V it "might" or might not fry the switch as this is the upper limit of the switch but 56V might fry the radio and then fry the switch.

Hi Chris,
thank you for your reply; I have done a bench test of the WS-12-DC with serial console; I saw that after the start there are many line "Segmentation fault"; I saw this post: http://forum.netonix.com/viewtopic.php? ... &hilit=MOD and noticied the same behavior. I wold reset the switch as you told in the post.
The power supply feeds from 54.2 to 54.8 volt, so I think is not a problem.

In your opinion why I have this issues after I connect a Force 300?

I almost forgot that the Force 300 is connected with a polarity reverse cable because it accept only like PMP450 cable scheme.

Thank you.

Hi,

after the reset procedure, the switch started with 192.168.1.20 and I was able to upgrade FW to vers. 1.5.0; now only ports 1/3/7/12 are working and only at 100Mb/s not gigabit.
How can I repaire it ?

Thank you.

There is a link on our web page footer on how to proceed with an RMA which takes you to this post: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1259

Which was 3 posts below the post I sent you to for bench testing.

Awesome - take this time to upgrade firmware to v1.5.0 or v1.5.1rc1
