It's to Eric or Chris to confirm but I'm pretty sure you can't.

Correct, the current software cannot do this.

However, with some creative configuration I think it could work. Configure it like so:

Capture.PNG

Move you upstream connection from port 4 to port 2. Use a patch cable to connect port 4 to port 3.

When the untagged customer packets arrive on port 7 (for example) they will be sent out port 4 tagged 31. These packets will arrive on port 3 (the Q port) and will then be sent out on port 2 as QinQ with the outer tag as 119.

In the other direction QinQ packets with 119/31 will arrive on port 2, the outer tag will be stripped and it will be sent out port 3 with a single tag of 31. When this arrives at port 4 the 31 tag will be stripped and the untagged packet will be sent out port 7.

This uses up a couple more ports on the switch but it should work for you.

In the meantime I'll see if there is a way to do this in software.

Hi Netonix Team,
Did you get any further with this post in regards to doing it in software rather than the hardware hack, we have the same senario and would be great if netonix could do this.
thanks
Jason

Just wondering if there is an update to this feature? We are trying to do the same thing, and unable to do so. Very easy to do with a Cisco or Juniper, but we can't seem to make this work on Netonix?

We will continue investigating to see if it is possible.

Eric

I assume you must disable STP for this to work on port 3 and 4?

Has there been any further consideration to add this ability? @Stephen

Yes I've done some experiments with it. However, right now development effort's are mostly focused on finishing the new line of products coming out. I plan on getting back to this and other request's coming in soon.
