Netonix Restart nothing in Logs

Wed Dec 20, 2017 7:04 pm

What would be the issue, why netonix is restarting itself, we cant find anything in LOGs. WS-26-500-DC

1. Memory usage is going full to 128Mb ( you can see in screenshot I took it when it went to 122Mb)
2. only 4 customers users are connected to the switch.
2. can we use all ports PoE at the same time?
3. Right now we are using : 24VH, 48VH, 48VH, 48V, 48V, 24V, 24V, 24V, 24V, 24V, 24V, 24V = 12 Ports PoE.
4. we are planning to use all ports with PoE ( 6 ports with 48VH, 18 ports with 48V and 24V) will it work or netonix will go down.
5. Ac to Dc we are using a 600W Power supply.
6. I can't find anything in logs why its restarting

only 4 customers users are connected to the switch.

Memory usage can be caused by multiple users logging into the UI or CLI at the same time.

Each user takes more memory and CPU.

Excessive SNMP polling causes high CPU usage, meaning do not poll the switch every second, once every 60 seconds is a good interval.

The switching functions have nothing to do with the CPU or memory usage. The switch core handles all switching/packet forwarding. The CPU is only a little MIPS 24K CPU used to run the UI/CLI/Stats/Daemon/Services like SNMP

Yes, you have a 500 watt MAX TOTAL POE budget.

I do not recommend using the full 500 watts constantly, a good number to shoot for is 60% to 80% of power supply watts as an average constant draw.

Our SMART DC switches are designed to hook DIRECTLY to the battery bank not a power supply. If your going to use a power supply you should buy the WS-12-DC or WS-26-DC which has no power supply.

Why would you spend the extra money for a SMART WS-26-500-DC when your going to power it with a power 48V-54V power supply? You should but they WS-12-DC or WS-26-DC which is designed for what your doing.

That's because the logs get erased when the switch reboots. Use a syslog server to maintain a log of devices that reboot. When devices like routers and switches reboot the logs are lost which is the nature of RAM.
