AF4X - 48VH?

Will a AirFiber-4X handle 48VH over about a 100ft cable run? I know that 48V works okay.

0.75 vs 1.5 - I am aware of this. The unit comes with a 24v 1A POE...I want to make sure that I don't damage an expensive unit or switch

It's not about the total amps the port can deliver. A car battery can easily deliver 100 amps but the small bulbs in the dash don't burn out.

The reason VH ports can deliver more amps is because they use all 8 wires so can spread the current over twice as many wires. The PoE brick that ships with the AF4X also uses all 8 wires to deliver 24V.

As far as I know all AFX radios can use 48VH

But yes the MAIN difference between 48V and 48VH as Les said is 8 wires verses 4 wires caring power.

NEVER use 24VH on ANY airMAX radios
NEVER use 48VH with a Titanium rocket

Just tried to switch the AF4X to 48VH with no luck (but it did not damage anything). I can confirm that 48V works though.

You cannot switch from 48V to 48VH directly because the switch sees link. You need to turn off PoE first so the radio drops link.
