DC Power Setup at Tower Sites

Wed Jun 21, 2017 11:59 am

We are starting to deploy 24v and 48v DC power at our Broadcast sites with our Netonix 250 DC switches.. can people post pics of their DC setups? Trying to get ideas of what works best in various space constraints.

We are planning on using the Ubnt EdgePower at the ground feeding 48v up the tower where our netonix switch is located. I have (4) Optima Blue top batteries, what are the recommendations for a battery charger?

Thanks!

Jordan

Huawei ETP4830 or Vertiv Netsure 200 serie. Both have dual redondant power supply + battery charger + control board + 48V DC output (20A output + 10A output).

Well if you are using a power supply you should use the WS-12-DC not the WS-12-250-DC.

The WS-12-250-DC is designed to hook directly to battery banks.

WHy do want to use the EdgePower?

If you are going to put the WS-12-250-DC on the tower connect directly to battery bank and use a smart charger like the Minn Kota chargers which come in 1 through 4 battery bank.

They charge each battery separately so you can hook the batteries in series and have 48V battery bank.

I would not use the EdgePower, why?
