Hello,
I'm actually using a WS-12-250-DC on a solar site but was thinking of replacing it with a WS-8-150-DC since I'm only using 4 ports there. I found that I don't have the Hibernate / Wakeup function that I was relying on for power saving when battery voltage was getting too low on the WS-8. Firmware version is up to date (1.4.6).
Is this a firmware or a Hardware limitation? If it's firmware, could you consider adding the same functionality to WS-12-250-DC's little brother?

AFAIK it was left out as a cost saving measure. Probably best to go with the 12 port if you need the feature.
