I'm not that familiar with DC power but i'm gonna do my first install.
I have done plenty of AC installations and like the WISP Switches.
Could the power from this unit supply a 250DC switch?

Hi,

The whole idea of the WS-12-250-DC and WS-8-150-DC is that they are hooked DIRECTLY to a battery bank and that they can take a wide range of input voltages and keep everything running as your batteries discharge all the way to near dead if you want.
If you are going to use a regulated power supply such as this you should use the WS-12-DC not the smart WS-12-250-DC or WS-8-150-DC

I understand about the regulated 48V aspect but WRT the DC+ being grounded on that power supply and the PoE kit potentially being grounded on DC- does not that pose a risk? I would think an isolated DC/DC supply would be needed.

Yea, that is be a problem, it is a negative 48V system with Earth Ground bonded to the Positive rail so yea that will not work.
