Just saw your other post that you are looking at files from Netonix Manager. Unfortunately, the network I'm working on currently doesn't have Netonix manager running (something I need to setup) so I don't have access to that type of file.

So you tried using 7Zip (or similar as suggested by Eric Stern above) and it didn't work to uncompress the file?

Hi Sakita, thanks for your reply. Yes I tried 7Zip and WinRAR and neither recognised the Netonix Manager config backup as an archive of any kind. I ran the file through TrID/32 File Identifier (with 19507 definitions in its database) and it said the file type was unknown.

So I'm thinking it's corrupted but I don't know why Netonix Manager would be storing corrupted backups or how to fix it. I'm attaching a screenshot of the file as viewed in Notepad++. It's very different from a config file downloaded directly from a WISP Switch which is mostly human-readable.
