Hi,
I believe I have found the anwser that I cannot power the ePMP 4500 from a Netonix switch but I would just like to confirm this with the community as I cannot find a definitive anwser anywhere I search for.
the ePMP POE is PIN (3,6)(4,5): +56V , PIN (1,2)(7,8): DC Return
from the research I have done this is reversed and would damage the radio?
Thanks
PAtrice

Re: ePMP 4500 Compatibility
AI Overview
The ePMP 4500 series uses a standard ePMP PoE pinout, where V+ (positive voltage) is on pins 7 and 8, and Return (negative voltage) is on pins 4 and 5. This is in contrast to the 802.3af PoE standard which uses pins 4&5 for V+ and 7&8 for Return. The ePMP 4500 also supports a voltage range of 44V to 59V, according to Go Wireless NZ.
So yea, they did it ass backwards from the STANDARD

Re: ePMP 4500 Compatibility
Thanks for the Anwser Chris,
so to sum it up to a yes or no question, this is a NO?
We cant just make a custom cable as this would not work for the ethernet communication am I correct on this ?
Thanks again
Patrice

Re: ePMP 4500 Compatibility
I want this to work so bad, Could we use a SFP in the cambium unit for communication and make a custom cable to power the ePMP from the Netonix switch?
would you believe this might work? I will order things to give it a try if so.
Thanks!

Re: ePMP 4500 Compatibility
It's doable, I'd recommend getting a few of these. https://www.balticnetworks.com/en-ca/pr ... hDNqBwpKef This will reverse the polarity and prevent things from blowing up.
We have a bunch of 4500/4600s powered up at 48v with no problems.

Re: ePMP 4500 Compatibility
Hi,
Thank you very much for this suggestion, the shipping to get these here is quite expensive..
do your ethernet links still go at 1Gbps or does this affect the ethernet speed down to 100Mbps?
Thanks!
Patrice
