Weird One-Time Posts?

What is up with the weird one-time posts lately? These are posts by users with recent accounts.

These users have only posted once and it is a question posted at the end of an existing thread that paraphrases the thread.

Like what is the point? These just seem weird or am I the only one that sees this? :willy:

I noticed them as well. They are not off-topic enough to justify deleting and banning. Their email addresses all end in the .space TLD. I wonder if they are chatGPT generated placeholders for spam that they will later return to edit/post?

I was wondering if they might be AI - they have that uncanny valley vibe.

Future spam sounds like a good theory... or I was wondering if it some kind of data mining like scraping sites for knowledge: an automated version of what some ad article authors have been doing manually for years - just plagiarize, paraphrase, and post with ad revenue to follow if their SEO is good enough to garner the clicks. :tounge:

Some university students, corporate minions, quick buck angle, or ? :Box: irritating in any case

Most of them have have a signature with ":)" in it and they all hyperlink to various dating websites... if you over over the hyperlink you can observe their URL. Agree that they are certainly AI generated responses...

Good point. IMHO that is evidence enough that they are spammers so I deleted and banned them.

Thanks

Wow, the 21st century continues to disappoint

I wonder if their AI can tell which pictures are traffic signals?
