That's unifi, airmax gear is all atheros, including the 'ac gear which is the atheros 7100/71kc.

I doubt they will switch from atheros for a long time. Airmax is written for that hardware in the Qualcomm/atheros SDK. It would be a substantial port to move it to broadcom. UniFi on the other hand is just wifi with management scripts, can be almost anything underneath for the most part. In sure their ZH 'thing' has some oddities to deal with, but that's just a hack, not a complete protocol.
