30' Non-Penetrating mount

Thu Dec 04, 2014 5:44 am

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this mount. I find myself seriously considering it for a new relay, but I'm wondering if anyone has one deployed and what size antennas they've mounted without issue. My biggest concern is wind load. We're looking to put a couple of rocket dishes at the top.

I'm pretty sure we'd have to have some drawings drew up by a PE before we could proceed, but if anyone has any experience along those lines it would be helpful to know if there was any issues with planing and zoning or building departments.

You don't mention any vendor. If you're talking about the RF Armor mounts... I can comment... but.. which Rocket Dish?

I don't think I'd put a three footer on there. I have two foot dishes and airFibers on them all over the place with no issue. Just make sure you use radomes.

You really have one of those?

There are pictures somewhere with the same base with 40 ft of tower and 2 nanobridges.

Oh. Sorry. I was thinking that said inches not feet. That's not a non pen mount. That's a non pen tower :)

I really want to put one up but haven't been able to yet.

Yea but you saw one when you were here at our location and even climbed on one. These things are SOLID!

Easy put 3 sectors and a 2' dish on one!

Yah... I agree.. it's not going anywhere... even without cinder blocks!! But I wouldn't advise using one like that :) I really really want to put one up somewhere.

Yes indeed the RF Armor non-penetrating tower ;) We just opened a new office and my building permit fell through with the city to build a 40'. So I'm considering building one of these guys on top of the roof. My real problem is I need 30' to get over the near by trees to hit my preferred tower.

Chris, any PE drawings available for these guys, wind load ratings, etc? Have you had or heard of any building authority issues with them?

Here's one of our installs for anyone else that might be interested. We only went 20' because more wasn't needed, but as you can see we loaded it up.
3-AF24's
2-AF5X with 2ft dishes
3-120 Sectors

I'm sure most of you know how picky the AF24's are about their mount moving and we've been very happy with this setup.

We've also use these for temp towers when we recently replaced one of our towers. Although probably not recommended by the manufacture we've drilled some holes in that one to accommodate a larger slope that 2° as we were setting it on the top of a mountain
