+1 I would pay quite a bit for that.. I wonder what that would take to make a switch with support for ERPS?

We've added this to the list of features to add in the future.

Wow thats incredible, are the current line of switches compatible with ERPS? Or will you need a new switch lineup?

It is supported by our existing switch core.

Eric hopes to release v1.4.7rc12 by Friday which will have this feature - ERPS
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.

So it turns out this won't be as easy to implement as we first though. It can still be done, but will be a lot more work than we originally thought.

Why do you need this feature? It seems like it is just like MSTP but less useful (ERPS only works in a ring configuration, MSTP works in any configuration).

Here is the best G.8032 explanation, and future enhancements. It will support a ladder topology instead of just rings eventually.

http://www.actusnetworks.com/new/html/2.pdf

But for me personally:

1. Convergence times for fault detection at 50ms out of the box (this is huge for those of us for customers with SLA's)
2. Extremely extremely simple to setup and it scales well
3.All our fiber vendors support G.8032, Calix, Accedian, etc... In a world that is going more to a Hybrid Fiber/Wireless scenario this gives us quite a few possibilities to build parts of our ring with wireless instead of 100% fiber.

Siklu is also coming out with backhauls that support ERP: http://www.balticnetworks.com/siklu-eth ... ennas.html
