AF 5X

thoughts on the AF5X? I ordered a handful of them and the RD30 coversion kits. I'm thinking it was good to wait and not buy the RAC5PTP.

How much signal loss will the RAC5PTP introduce?

Edit: How much signal loss will the RD30 conversion kit introduce?

Sorry, it has been a long day....

The conversion kit is a replacement feed horn mount tilted 45 degrees. Many of the beta testers used this specific combo w/ great results. I expect over 250Mbps one away at 12 miles, if not over 300.

Looks like to me the conversion kit adds some more connectors and coax. I may be wrong. I hope so.

I didnt mean to derail the thread. I am very excited about this product and cant wait to put some in operation.

it just turns the two rp-sma plugs so that they don't bump the feed. The third is the GPS receiver port.

Chris, per some posts on the UBNT forum regarding this product and the RF Armor shielding. Might not need to re-do the radio box?
The new radio is aluminum with heat sinks on it, and enclosing it in a box might overheat it. With the aluminum case on the radio, looks like it might be shielded enough. I would just suggest that the radio box be removed and use the supplied plastic covers (Now where did I put all those at?)

Of course, still definitely need the shielding on the front of the dish!

Not sure what good or bad for RF and heat the box would be or if it fits in the box even
The NEWEST Dish Box being shipped since spring of last year are PROBABLY large enough but the older Dish boxes are NOT.
