WS-6 mini to WS-12-250 DC POE and Gigabit connectivity issue

Hello.
I have done a cursory search of the forum, and I can't find a discussion on this. Forgive me if I'm asking a question that has already been answered.
I have a remote installation where a WS-12-250 DC is to provide POE and connect to a WS-6 mini using the 48V H/V POE and a gigabit connection.
I have tried on multiple WS-12-250's and multiple WS-6's, and I can't get a gigabit connection. POE works fine. When I set both sides to 10/100 Auto, I get a connection.
Gigabit is working fine on all other ports - both switches.
I have tried using a short jumper as well with the two switches located right next to each other - so no ground loop issue, no cabling issue.
Any suggestions on how to get Gigabit speed and 48V H/W working between these two models?
Thanks.
