WS-8-150 self reboot

Sun Dec 22, 2024 5:37 pm

Hello, first I have to say I love Netonix mini switches, they are a wonderful switch that ive relied on for 6 years and only lost two - poor grounding so my fault.

I installed my first ws-8-150 DC yesterday and it self rebooted at 8:11am this morning, taking my whole network down. eeew.

I looked for new firmware but see in the bug reports that LAG not working, and issues with sfp ports - I have a lag that uses an sfp port so that firmware is not an option for me.

Ive looked for slightly older firmware (currently 1.5.14) but cannot find it here.

Please help me - I cant have reboots taking my whole network down for 3 minutes.

Thanks

No issue is not with SFP or lag or vlans

Appears to be trunk ports with PPPoE and then only 2 people with PPPoE others fine. Again pointing to those using trunk ports.

Waiting on yahel to post up ports tab and talk to Stephen. He's taking a well deserved break.

I think it's related to trunk ports with vlans and MTU

You'll be fine

Thousands of switches have been upgraded and there is literally a handful of people with issues.

But using old firmware is hackable and not as good by far.

Besides a sheet in box tells you to upgrade BEFORE you put in service.

No one reads instructions.

Open box
Upgrade firmware
Test your SFPs as explained a hundred times.
Then install

Don't install then Upgrade
