@yahel and those with trunk port issues please get Stephen a copy of config file.

We have a good theory on issue

Stephen is off today, wife's (bosses) birthday.

All other fixes requested easy.

It's this trunk port issue that is in question, but as said we discussed in length ladt night and have a really good idea why. Again one of those things I don't use and gets missed in testing. My bad.

SO PLEASE SEND STEPHEN YOUR CONFIG FILES.

no need to change passwords or IP so long as you not require password or turn off console. Your password is hashed we can not reverse that and get your password but we can reset it.

NTP appears to be all sorted. Booted up the test switch this morning and it got NTP time. Then I set the *correct* time on the NTP server.

Went to switch web UI and Disabled NTP & clicked [Save/Apply] then enabled NTP & clicked [Save/Apply]. :hurray: Excellent! Clock was set to updated time. Switch logs showed the configuration changes as well as the ntp daemon being stopped and then started followed by sync time via ntp.

The great wizard Stephen has thrown down the ntp enemy and smote its ruin upon the mountainside! (sorry, just rewatched LoTR movies).

Seriously you all have really put a lot into this and I appreciate it. Having new versions that are more secure, faster, and improved is fantastic!

Also, I can confirm having seen the false "switch has rebooted" message on web page timeout like others have.
Today is an average day: Worse than yesterday, but better than tomorrow.

OK, I finally came across a switch that's not passing PPPoE traffic on the SFP port.

IGMP query is auto disabled when creating new vlans with 1.5.17+ this was enabled by default, unsure if related. I do not use trunk or lag here.

What I'm seeing, MACs up to the Netonix, no MACs from the SFP port. On the SFP port side I'm seeing MACs but they're coming in all as untagged. The odd thing this isn't happening to every VLAN. I have some that are passing PPPoE traffic and some that are not.

I can provide access to the switch if needed.

Edit: Chris I emailed you my config.

Edit2: the switch is passing the proper traffic between copper ports.

I hope y'all are still on vacation (for your sake)...
Just a quick update - we had to downgrade two switches back to 1.5.14 to solve an OSPF problem via SFP ports again.

Also, I noticed the switch having issues with ARP table - not learning about the MAC of some devices -- all related to SFP port, and some VLANs (but no problem at some other VLANs).

Yahel.

Yea i gave it to Stephen and suggested a plan of attack he will do on Thursday.

He did work today but tackled a couple small issues as he had family holiday plans and is off tomorrow and the 1st.

So the plan is to set your configuration up Thursday in a lab. We brain stormed on this today and have agreed on a stragey that SHOULD make clear where the issue is.
