Switch issues

Fri Apr 30, 2021 3:37 pm

Newbie here,
Looking for advice.
I have a 26 port AC switch one of the Techs dropped off. Not sure what the original issue was but now.

I log in and get the lost communication error message, Default IP.

Reset button does not work.

Have recovered if with recovery tool and to firmware 1.56.

Can log in via ssh.

Can upload firmware from gui but make no changes.

Only ports 1-12 work.

Any ideas?
Rgds & confused.

Can you use putty to look at the console and run the command:
Code: Select all
show status

And paste the results here?

No results when command applied.

Other show commands return info, ie vlan & configuration.

Firmware 1.5.6 in place but tried 8 & 9.
Thx

In Putty over a serial cable, try running the following commands:

Code: Select all
cmd
strings /dev/mtd1

And let me know the results.

If you are still in the linux terminal try running this

Code: Select all
exit
reload defaults

Note, if it works the switch will be back at 192.168.1.20

If it's still not behaving properly then I'm lead to believe that there must be some hardware damage on the unit. So it will have to be RMA'd
