It really depends on how many things come up.
Many of the issue's addressed in 1.5.5 were severe that have been plaguing many for awhile. So we're waiting on feedback from it. So far, there hasn't been any report's of any serious issue's which is good. Also this build was something we needed for the manufacturing of the switch board and we need to see how a run goes before we make too many changes. I'm working on your issue in my development environment right now so once we get word back I'll see if it's OK for me to push it.

jackkirk,

Just so you are aware, I have fixed this in my development environment and this will be in the next rc release. Other things are coming up unfortunately so it will take a bit more time for it to come out. But you will get it in the next release.

It appears the latest firmware is:

v1.5.2
Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:04 am

So I'm guessing this has still not made it.

Or am I wrong?

I'll see about getting it added into the next RC release.

Can you explain the difference between the ws-8-150-dc and others that makes this one not technically a smart switch? Not sure what makes a switch, a “smart switch”, wondering what I missed when looking at the datasheets.

I can't explain in detail but from what I know, smart DC switch have an integrated DC power supply like WS8-150-DC and WS-12-250-DC. 150 and 250 is the power supply maximum output. The integrated power supply allow to have more information about power. Those shouldn't be hooked to a external power supply but directly to batteries.

None smart like WS-12-DC and WS-26-DC don't have integrated power supply so are cheaper and can be hooked to an external power supply but offer less information about the power.

The WS-8-150-DC is a budget model that does not have the same "smarts" in the DC power supply that the more expensive models have.
