ALARM STATE FLAG

Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:57 am

What I like to have is a single MIB Value which indicates a "Normal", "Warning", "Critical" State.

Doing this by my own I have to find and monitor a lot of values (temperatures, voltages, fanspeed, ...)
and I am sure I forget the value which causes the problem.

So a single value where my monitoring gets a yellow or red state and I could
have a look would make monitoring much easier. This could be used to give a warning at login to
the switch, too.

If you are running the latest firmware there us a red explanation mark on the device tab that tells you to go look at the Log and or Device Status Tab if an error event occurred.
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.

Either Power Use (total) or Input Current use would be an excellent addition to the MIB. This would make it reasonable for monitoring plugins to estimate runtime (assuming batter size is known).

Both of these will be in 1.4.0.

I am running 1.4.0rc11 - Is the OID for voltage input available yet?

SNMP request

Don't report poeStatus for ports that don't support PoE.

(Make sure the indexes still match the port numbers)

Is there an updated MIB? The current one throws this error when I try compiling it into OpenNMS

Code: Select all
ERROR: Parse error: unexpected token: poeStatusEntry, Source: NETONIX-SWITCH-MIB.dat, Row: 96, Col: 16
SYNTAX poeStatusEntry

Also throws some other errors when I run it through a few different online validators.
