Linux Development

Fri Jan 13, 2017 4:11 pm

We have connected some Efoy Pro 2200 methanol fuel cells to the DB9 serial port of WS-8-DC-150.
After using the console to set the serial port to raw 9600 8 N 1 and then entering cmdline (busybox ash)
we are able to write a command such as:

echo -e "SFC\n\r" > /dev/ttyS0

And then there is a buffered response we can pick up via:

cp /dev/ttyS0 myresponse.steam

So this is fairly crude. Is there any chance we can request a few more busybox utils to be enabled. stty, dos2unix would be helpful.
I am having a hard time getting sed or awk to cooperate with fixing the line endings from the response.
Also maybe miniterm or picocom.

Is there any info on the linux dev enviroment, or how to set up cross compile toolchain to do this myself.
Im not new to that and would be fun to work in that environment again.

Eventually I want to expose some results through custom SNMP OIDs for use in NMS graphing/alerting

Thanks!
