Backup and Restoring config on 1.5.26

I've had two instances where I've attempted to take the backup config from a switch running 1.5.26 and restore it to another switch running 1.5.26 and the switch GUI becoming mostly unresponsive. Attaching screenshots of the mostly blank GUI. If I try to change any of the configuration I get a "Invalid Fields" error.
For what it's worth, both instances have happened when I'm moving a config from a smaller (less ports) switch to a larger one. The last instance was a config from the older WS-10-250-AC to a WS-12-250-AC. I can default the switch and GUI will act normal again.

Anyone experienced this? My work around has been to default the switch and manually redo the config via GUI...
