Whoa, what happened? I think it is likely out of warranty? Unless there is some exception for this issue?

Well im conjecturing on the damage based on UI, it would have to be diagnosed. But damage is nrvrr under warranty even if you damage it the same day you receive it.

Go to rma portal plug in mac it will tell you what yoir options are.

This type of damage is usually ground current and could have happened awhile ago but you did not notice it until you ipgraded it and looked at status page.

But WISP Repair which runs our RMAs will repair most any unit even other manufacturer equipment.

Re: v1.5.26 Bug Reports and Comments

Still getting this message when the switch tries to send an e-mail, and I can'T figure out why,

[->] RCPT TO:<support@isfquebec.net> [<-] 553 5.7.1 <ISFQuebec@isfquebec.net>: Sender address rejected: not owned by user admin@isfquebec.net ssmtp: RCPT TO:<support@isfquebec.net> (553 5.7.1 <ISFQuebec@isfquebec.net>: Sender address rejected: not owned by user admin@isfquebec.net)

the email account ISFQuebec@isfquebec.net comes from I don'T know where, this happened since 1.5.25,

ISFQuebec being my User credential, to access the device,

Now if I change my Login User to admin it works fine,

It looks like the User name has to be a valid e-mail adresse for this to work, Not very good for us,

Thank you for guiding me to make it work again,

regards

System web interference not working. Could get through the signon screen but then was indicating 'not communicating". Had to reboot via the SSH interface.

This is not simething that changed on our side, mail host have adopted new security protocols that our switches dont deal with.

Overview:
New email security requirements, driven by Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft, mandate bulk senders (>5,000 emails/day) implement SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for authentication.

These requirements present many hurdles. Right now all developers are working to complete the WS4 line.

Our current plan to adopt in WS4 then back port to WS line in Q1 hopefully. Basicaly we will use send mail on the swith and send the emails directly from the switch then all the user has to do is create an SPF1 TXT record in DNS. However if your switch does not have internet access which is best then the operator must have an internal mail server that the switch can get to via non internet access via internal invalid routes.

Another thing i am considering is removing email alerts altogether. For one switches should not be internet accessible and most WISPs no longer host their own email servers.

This is a complex issue with a lot of moving parts and security concerns.

Is this a switch with v1.5.26 or new unit?

Some switches ship with older firmware that requires a firmware update to use browsers that no longer support TLS v1.0. In this event i use firefox and change its setting to support TLS v1.0 then upgrade firmware.

If this is running v1.5.12 or newer then something is set wrong in config or corrupted config. Factory default.

Re: v1.5.26 Bug Reports and Comments

wanted to report an issue - i had a still sealed in box ws-250-ac (label shows mfg ~2018) and it updated to 1.5.26 just fine (seemed).

However i cant change the setting page (ie to revert to my original password). I keep getting "Invalid Fields" on save. I have tried the other suggestions in other threads for this issue, and tried different web browsers. (mac aging field was blank, but i still get invalid fields regardless of what i put in that or the other fields including the suggestions like snmp ON / OFF or other fields on/off).

here is what it showed before the update:
Firmware Version 1.4.2
Board Rev F

note- the switch had a default config before the update, only had set it to dhcp on ipv4 , set a password, and enabled NTP (on 1.4.2 - then did the update).

so i had to factory default the device. Which is fine in this specific case, but not a good scenario, ideally the message should tell the issue.
thanks

EDIT- i did want to add , i have used MANY , many different switches and brands/types of switches over the years (SWs from $100s to $20k +) - and i find the netonix web GUI to be EXCELLENT. it really is fast / shows you the relevant important data and is easy to use. (not to mention that netonix switch are build and perform like a TANK / reliable)

Re: v1.5.26 Bug Reports and Comments

Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:11 pm

(see my reply above for full context) - i actually had 2x more still sealed in the box WS-12-250-AC, mfg ~2018 so i decided to test the firmware update on those 2x also, this time starting from full default config (ie i didnt set/config anything, no password, and their IP is still at 192.168.1.20).
both switches showed:
IP Address 192.168.1.20
Firmware Version 1.4.2
Board Rev F

and both had the same "invalid fields" on config save issue (after successful firmware update to 1.5.26). So i just defaulted them, and then was able to set a new password. (if it helps ID, mac address from one showed: MAC Address ec:13:b2:61:f3:a2)

i did try filling in a few more fields, just to see if i could find the problem setting, but was unsuccessful (so ended up just doing the Default option).
thanks

edit: had a 4th WS-12-250-AC , it was not sealed/new, so it had a prior config, so i had to hold the reset button to default it- HOW COOL!! the eth LEDs acting as a reset/default PROGRESS bar (green filled up, then red filled up)- amazing and great work!! (i appreciate the great thought and care that has gone into this product)! thank you!
