WS-12-250-AC (Finally Installed)

Thu Apr 23, 2015 4:03 pm

My current box contains:

1 - TS-5
1 - Mikrotik RB493G
9 - Tycon POE Surge Arrestors
1 - Digital Loggers Web Power Switch WPS-IV
6 - UBNT 48V POE injectors

This tower has 6 Rocket Titanium APs and 3 Rocket M2 Aps and has a little over 200 Clients connected.

The plan is to replace the POE injectors with the WS-8-250-AC and the routerboard with a Mikrotik RB850Gx2. I am undecided on if the WPS-IV will remain in place or not. I am currently going to keep the TS-5 right now as I was not able to get a WS-12-250-AC for this project (maybe later).

I will update with more photos once I get the replacement scheduled.

Well I have to put this upgrade on hold a little while longer. Due to the need to add 2 more Titanium APs to the tower I will have to wait until I can get a WS-12-250-AC switch as I need the extra ports. This will of course delay my upgrade. Side benefit is that it will allow me to eliminate the TS-5 as well.

Well I finally got around to putting in the WS-12-250-AC in the box above.

As you can see shoehorning the switch into a box that was setup specifically for the previous equipment, it is not a clean of a look as I would have liked.
However, everything is working great and the extra ports give me room to grow on this tower.
