It certainly doesn't have the amperage to run anything else .... .275a @56v.

The other concern would be powering the Lite via a netonix switch. The Lite is, well light. They feel like an empty shell. I think the pair of them weighs less than a 19ac unit. Whereas the B5 has reverse polarity protection, I don't know if it's the case with the LITE. I'm trying to confirm this with Mimosa. Not a critical issue as I will be running them with their POEs for now.
Seems odd they wouldn't use a more common standard. They must have a line of POE switches and routers planned.

The MIMOSA equipment uses polarity reversal protection circuits, at least the B5 and B5C does, you need to determine if the B5 Lite does but you can power the B5 Lite with standard 48V option for sure since it powers the B5 and B5C fine.

You can contact Lee from MIMOSA right here on this Forum and ask him.

I asked Lee from MIMOSA to weigh in here.

I do not have a B5 Lite to test with so I can not help at this time.

On the WS-400, can the B5-Lite be powered on any port then?

Well the WS-24-400A YES as all ports to 24V or 48V
Ports 1-4 do 24V, 48V or 48VH

On the WS-24-400B only ports 1-12 as ports 13-24 only do 24V
Ports 1-2 do 24V, 48V or 48VH

Hi all,

We are using WS-12-250A and would like to power a Mimosa B5 Lite. I believe the correct power setting to use on the Netonix is 48V. Can anyone confirm this?

B5: 48VH
B5c: 48VH
B5 Lite: 48V

Thanks.

I power B5 and B5C with both 48V and 48V depending on port availability and cable length.

Greater then 150' I try to use 48VH

With that said I do not have a B5 Lite yet but I suspect either 48V or 48VH will work?

I just got two new switches and neither will work with a mimosa lite power supply, I can free up a powersupply once I install this switch but need to be able to program it in advance. Also for the record, a Cisco 48 volt standard supply for Cisco 1500 would not power is using barrel plug. Now it is not 1.5 amps but we are not trying to power any radios with it at this point.
